Condolences

Condolence From: Christopher Hoffer
Condolence: I knew Jules, or "Charlie" as he was called, from my Memom, as she was good friends with him and his wife, Betty. Every summer, for as long as I can remember, we would go over Betty and Charlie's house for the day, swimming in their pool, relaxing during those hot summer days, and hearing all the stories my Memom and Pop pop would share with their old friends. I think I speak for my siblings when I say we were heartbroken over receiving the news of Charlie's passing, as we took the time to reflect on the good memories we shared of him and talked about those summer days, even remembering the story our father told us of the big Moon Landing party they had in 1969 in the very same backyard. As a representative of the Hoffer family, we send our deepest condolences to the Winistorfer family, and wish nothing but comfort and joy during this hard time, knowing that those from times long ago still, and will always remember, Charlie.

Condolence From: Jim Thompson
Condolence: I met Charley when we worked together in Cherry Hill starting in the mid 1980’s. We shared several projects, and he was always a pleasure to work with, creative and thorough. We also shared a love for the Eagles. Our paths separated in 1990 but we reunited a few years later when Charlie joined me in Reading to work on a project. That was a good time as we had many outside events with Betty and Charlie plus many of our coworkers including picnics in Bensalem.
Charley and I kept in touch in the intervening years by phone and we would lament both the Eagles and politics. But after I retired in early 2006, we would get together at Otto’s German restaurant which was the midpoint between our homes. Every few months we meet there to enjoy lunch, catch up on sports and the latest political news. We did that until Charley and Betty moved to their present spot. For the past 2 years or so we still were able to keep in touch by phone.
Charlie was a great person to know – he always had another view matter what the story was about. I treasure the friendship we had as well as all the good times.
