A day does not go by that i dont think about your mom. my connection with her and your dad goes way back to when i was a little girl. i used to go down to the fields at the end of plum street where all the strawberries used to grow. i loved picking them and eating them. it was so easy to walk to orchard from there.
southampton was such a small town back then. everyone knew everyone else. we even all seemed to know a lot of people in newtown. i often wondered if southamptonites moved to newtown. i think that newtown had the only catholic church around for a while. anyway, your mom had dated my fathers cousin for a while before she married your father.
i used to walk further to get the school bus, so that i could be with all the people that i knew, rather than take the bus that was supposed to pick me up. you girls got to live in a good area. all the nice kids lived around there. and you had a great set of parents.
alice went on vacations with us and we always had a real good time. she fit in with everyone no matter their age. i am afraid i scared her a few times , but she took it like a champ. we had a good time. she is truly missed. rest in peace.
