Obituary for Richard S. "Ricky" Clifford Jr.

Richard “Ricky” S. Clifford, Jr.

Our precious Ricky went home to Our Lord Jesus Christ on November 16 at the age of 60 following a lengthy and courageous battle with cancer. Ricky has left behind his loving and devoted parents Richard S. and Ann (Merkel) Clifford; his beloved sisters and brothers: Marianne Antonelli (Barry), Patty Clifford, Karen Chase (Kevin), Thomas Clifford and Robert Clifford (Paula), one living aunt and many cousins. He was preceded in death by his paternal and maternal grandparents and many relatives.

Ricky was a graduate of William Tennent High School and Middle Bucks Technical School. He was a dedicated employee at APS for 39 years until his recent retirement.

Ricky will be greatly missed by his family, friends, APS co-workers, OLGC parish family and all who had the beautiful opportunity to have met and known him. Ricky was a kind and gentle soul who touched the lives of all who knew him. His vivacious personality and welcoming smile could light up a room. He loved his family foremost, especially celebrating life’s special occasions; vacationing in Ocean City, NJ; and cheering on all the Philadelphia sports teams. Recently his family threw him a surprise 60th birthday bash with family and friends, with visits from the Phillie Phanatic and several Eagles cheerleaders.

The family would like to thank all the chemo caregivers of Holy Redeemer Hospital for the kindness and compassion given to Ricky over the past several years.

A viewing will be held on Monday, November 21 at McGhee Funeral Home, 690 Belmont Avenue, Southampton, PA from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm and on Tuesday, November 22 from 9:30 am to 10:30 am. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 am at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, Southampton, PA Interment will follow at Our Lady of Grace Cemetery, Penndel, PA.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in memory of Ricky to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or www.stjude.org.
