Memories of Mom

I believe her life can best be summarized by the most meaningful relationships that God graces us with in this life. These relationships are the heart of every persons legacy aren't they? Mom's most meaningful relationships: 1. Her relationship with the Lord. She was so faithful. Church every Sunday until she couldn't drive anymore. Three days before she died she told me she knew how much Jesus loved her... 2. Her relationship with our Dad. They were married for 54 years! Perfect example of yin and yang! Her relationship with Ray Landis who she was married to almost 1 year before he passed away. Her relationship with Joe Fox who was her companion for 10 years at Southampton Estates before he passed away. 3. Her relationship with her children. My brother Jim, my brother Ken and me. Our spouses, our children and grandchildren. She loved her family above all. 4. Her relationship with her siblings...I know she is enjoying Aunt Rose again 5. Her relationship with so many lifelong friends and extended family I learned to love life from my Mom. She had many loves and passions in life beyond the loving relationships above. What did I learn from my Mom? I learned the Christian Faith mattered. Mattered the most. I learned my love of music from my Mom who constantly zany to us as children and to our children! When she had music on around the house, she liked to grab us and start jitterbugging. I learned my love of dancing, drawing, painting, and crocheting from my Mom. She taught me how to sew and cook the basics. I learned how to be another from my Mom. She taught my brothers and I to live organically before it was in style. No prescriptions...no chemicals in most. products. I really believe this is how she lived so long. She taught us to read, and to love food. Food was her form of love besides affection. I learned to be there for people. Mom had so much compassion in life or death situations. She was always there for me and everyone else when we needed her. Her memories and her passions... Her relationships and her legacy. Things learned. Things passed on. Thank you God for our Mom. I know she is at home with our Lord. She lived life to the fullest and now lives life eternal. Finally, thanks Mom for loving us so much. I Miss you so much....
