Obituary for Casimer Terlecky

Casimer Terlecky
Casimer Terlecky of Upper Southampton passed away peacefully on February 25, 2015 with his loving family by his side. He was 91. Casimer was the son of the late Margaritha (nee Florezak) and Bronislaus Terlecky. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife Gloria (nee Meador), twin sister Jennina, brothers Stanley and Walter, and sister Stephanie Bridgeman.
Casimer is survived by his daughters Susan Bucci (John), Carol Johnson (Michael), grandchildren Nicole Feller-Johnson, Jaimee Kamnik-Samson (Ronen), Jonathan Kamnik, Kathryn Johnson and Michael Johnson, Jr. and great-gransons Robert & Caeden Corry and Nathaniel & Gabriel Samson.
Casimer is also survived by his nephew Philip Bridgeman.

Born Kazimierz Terlecki on a farm in Poland on November 29, 1923 he immigrated to the US in 1928. He attended Simon Gratz High School, joined the Civilian Conservation Corps (3Cs) at age 17, and was a soldier in the US Army in WWII. He worked as an auto mechanic and shop manager and retired from BP after a long career in 1982.

Cas married the love of his life Gloria Meador in 1956 and raised two daughters in Southampton. His hobbies were: fixing things, maintaining his home, gardening and traveling to Florida with his wife and friends. After his wife developed Alzheimer's he lovingly cared for her until her death in 2001. Spending time with his daughters, sons-in-law, 5 grandchildren and then 4 great grandsons was his greatest pleasure.

“Pops” was the quintessential man of his era: honor and duty bound and selfless. He was thrifty, hard working, modest and kind. His daughters recall a safe and happy childhood with him as their father. For him the glass was always more than half-full. He was never a quitter and he never lost his unique sense of humor. We will miss him greatly.

Casimer's family will receive relatives and friends on Monday March 2 from 10am to 11am at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, 611 Knowles Avenue. Southampton, PA. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11am. Casimer will be laid to rest at St. John Neumann Cemetery, Chalfont, PA.
