Mrs. Atkinson, as we young college students used to respectfully address her, used to drive by campus to pick up some of us students to come to the Rosary Prayer Group off campus, occasionally hosted at the Atkinson residence itself. She helped encourage and collaborate with the Princeton Pro-Life student organization. I remember one time some priests were passing through campus and could not find lodging at the chaplaincy, and Alda rescued them at a moment's notice by opening her house to them. She was a dear friend and a model of good works.
