Obituary for Jane D. McGinnis

Jane D.  McGinnis
Jane D. McGinnis, of Southampton, passed away on Friday, April 30, 2021 at Holy Redeemer Hospital. She was 84 years old. Jane was born in Philadelphia on July 18, 1936 to the late William and Jane (née Mills) Kneller. She was the wife to the late Hugh J. McGinnis and the companion to the late Robert B. Adair.

Jane resided in Villas, NJ for 15 years and always loved the beach and walking on the boardwalk. She most recently resided with her daughter, Carol Ann and her family in Southampton, PA. Jane was an avid reader and loved watching old movies and musicals. She was a long-time holder of Eagles season tickets at Veteran’s Stadium and was thrilled to see them win the Super Bowl. Her other lifelong interest was Drum Corps, having been a marching member of the Osmond Post Cadets and the Reilly Raiders Alumni Corps. It was through Drum Corps that she met her husband. Jane and Hugh were also members of the National Judges Association for many years. Her last employer was the Drug Enforcement Agency where she worked as a secretary.

Jane is survived by her children: Hugh J. McGinnis (Gina), Eileen Jaszczyszyn (Peter), Thomas McGinnis, Carol Ann Poekert (Michael) along with her grandchildren: Ryan Mitchell, Matthew Mitchell, Michael Poekert (Kristen), Robert Poekert, Sean Poekert and her step grandchildren: Chris Moseley, Andrew Moseley, Heidi Jaszczyszyn. She is survived also by her great granddaughter, Emma Poekert. Jane was the sister to the late William Kneller (the late Gloria), and is survived by her brother Charles Kneller (Judy).

Services for Jane are to be scheduled at a later date. Memorial contributions in memory of Jane may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research hospital at www.st.jude.org. Arrangements are entrusted under the care of McGhee-Givnish Life Celebration Home of Southampton, 215-355-0902.
