Obituary for Alfred J. Zielinski

Alfred J. Zielinski, 89 years of age, died peacefully on January 4, 2021 at his home in Southampton, PA, in the presence of his loving wife and family, in the loving arms of Jesus.

Alfred “Itsy” is one of three sons of the late Paul M. and Elizabeth (Oskowicz) Zielinski.

His twin brother, Albin (“Obbie”) and wife, Joan, are deceased. His older brother, Paul, and wife, Steffie, reside in Venice, FL.

Alfred married Anne M. Connolly in 1958 in St. William Church, Philadelphia. They brought seven children into the world; Mark J. Zielinski (Carol) of Southampton; Regina M. Grimaldi (Mark) of Philadelphia; John J. Zielinski Sr. (Rita) of Southampton; Kara M. Hayes (Russell) of Philadelphia; Maria T. Zielinski ( +1983); Paul J. Zielinski (Maureen) of Perkasie; Kristen M. Nalen (Richard) of Palmyra NJ.

In addition, Al and Anne have 31 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren, with more on the way.

Alfred was a proud graduate of Northeast Public High School (1949) and continued as an active alumni member. He also attended Penn State and received his associate degree. He served in the US Army during the Korean War with the “SCARWAF” 809th engineering aviation battalion. Al was a 50 year member of Post 396, proud member of Harmonia Club in Bridesburg, OLGC Knights of Columbus #15658, and part of the Cursillo movement. He was employed for many years by the Rohm and Haas chemical company and BJDS Insulators. Al was a member of Our Lady of Good Counsel Parish, in Southampton. He was, in every sense of the word, an honorable, charitable, and loving man. He will be missed.

Relatives and friends are invited to Al’s Life Celebration on Saturday, January 9, 2021 from 10 AM to 12PM at Nativity of Our Lord Church, 605 W. Street Road, Warminster, PA 18974. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12 noon. For those unable to attend, a live streamed video of Mass will be available on our McGhee Givnish Facebook page. Interment will take place at St. John Neumann Cemetery in Chalfont.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Alfred’s name may be made to Sacred Heart School, 4th and Jasper Streets, Camden, NJ 08104.
