Obituary for Gerrtrude E. Simmons
Gertrude E. Simmons passed away peacefully on Nov. 28, 2020. She was 93. Gertrude was born in Philadelphia to Gertrude E. (nee Ferkinghoff) and Bernard Spieker. She is survived by her loving son, Lawrence Simmons, Jr., (Cheryl) and her brother, Joseph Spieker (Susie). Gertrude was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence, Sr., in 1993.
Gertrude was a loving mother and friend to all. She graduated from Little Flower High School in 1945. Trudy was a very hard worker all of her life, working at the Depot in Philadelphia, Walker's Print Shop, Med X and Council Rock High School South. Trudy also cleaned houses for many years for Schrenk Builders. She loved gardening, cleaning and going for long walks.
There will be a Life Celebration Memorial Service at a later date. . Interment will be at Sunset Memorial Park in Feasterville on Fri. Dec.11, 2020 at 11:45AM. The family has requested donations in Gertrude's name be made to the American Cancer Assoc., 1818 Market Str., Phila, PA 19103 or cancer.org., or to The Church of the Redemption,1101 2nd Str. Pk., Southampton PA 18966.
