Obituary for Edward J. Legenski


Edward J. Legenski, passed away on Wednesday, September 30, 2020. He was 87. Edward was born in Philadelphia to the late Helen (nee Moderski) and Edward Legenski. Edward is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Victoria (nee Miller); children, Diane Brady, Karen Bellengeri, Maria McCullough (John), and Eddie (Brenda); grandchildren, Jesse Tunis, Kylie McCullough (Matthew Ruggieri), Nicole Lacouve (Sylvain), Michael Tunis, Katie Legenski, Kara and Kassidy McCullough; great- grandson, Johnny Mac Ruggieri.

Ed, (Good Ed), is how he was known by many. He was from Mayfair, was a graduate of St. Joe's Prep and Villanova University with a Mechanical Engineering Degree. His most notable work at GE was working on the Rocket propulsion system on the NASA Saturn V project. He married his sweetheart Vicky Miller June 25 1955. Ed loved to sing especially at Christmas He played the piano, loved the mummers and never missed a New Years Day in South Philly. He had many happy years at the Quartette Club and hanging out with neighbors at the circle parties on Pinewood Rd . He was an avid Philadelphia sports fan and loved his Phillies and Eagles. Ed's services will be private.

The Legenski family has requested donations in his name be made to Pennypack Rehabilitation Center, 8015 Lawndale St., Phila., PA 19111.
