Obituary for Rose Kuhner (Mayer)

Rose (Mayer) Kuhner, of Philadelphia, passed away on Monday, March 16, 2020 peacefully at the age of 84. Rose was the wife of the late Gerhard Kuhner with whom she shared over 50 years of marriage.



Rose was born in Nemetbanya, Hungary of the late Theresa and Anton Mayer. She emigrated to the United States in 1957 with her husband and settled in Philadelphia. She was a housekeeper and ran the Crescent Market in the Lawndale section of Philadelphia for over 25 years with her husband. She was also a dedicated member and director of the Bayerischer Volkfest Verein in the Bustleton Section of Philadelphia. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and especially cooking for them.



She is survived by her beloved sons, Gerhard (Marianne), Andrew (Caryn), Gregory (Susie) and Anton (Erin); grandchildren, Matthew (Michelle), Brian (Paige), Alexis Francis (James), Anton, and Emily; great-grandchildren, Catherine and John; siblings, Anni, Hans, and Maria.



A Private Mass of Christian Burial will be held for immediate family. Rose will be laid to rest at St. John Neumann Cemetery, Chalfont, PA.



In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in memory of Rose Kuhner may be sent to the Catholic Charities Appeal 100 N 20th St, Philadelphia, PA 19103.
