Obituary for Barbara T. Byrne (Drachowski)

Barbara T. Byrne (Drachowski)
Barbara T. Byrne, of Southampton, passed away peacefully on July 14, 2019. She was 75. Barbara was born in Philadelphia to Pauline and Stanley Drachowski. She is survived by her loving daughter, Colleen Byrne.

Barbara was the youngest of three sisters, growing up in the Bridesburg section of Philadelphia. After graduating from St. Huberts, she began a career in bookkeeping that started in banking and spanned construction and private businesses. She was always phenomenal with numbers.

Not long after high school, she met her husband Bill. They were married, and lived and raised their family in Southampton. She always enjoyed gardening and the upkeep and decoration of their home and yard throughout the year. She decorated for each holiday with such delight, and brought some of that style outside for all to enjoy. And she was always friendly with her neighbors, looking out for them as they did for her.

Barbara had many interests. She was artistic. She could sketch and draw so very well, but her specialty was oil painting, creating pictures that she lovingly gave to family to enjoy, and which they treasured. Another favorite activity of hers was baking brownies. Amazing brownies. She is actually quite famous with friends and family for her made with loving care recipe! She loved music. Classic Motown and Neil Diamond being some favorites. When the Mummers and Fancies were marching in the New Year's Day parade she was either watching and listening to all of the performances intently, or recording them to do so the next day. Barbara also donated to many charities, giving just to help others. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with family, showing care and enjoying their laughter throughout the years.

Barbara's family will receive relatives and friends on Sat. July 27, 2019 from 9:30 to 10:30 AM at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, 611 Knowles Ave., Southampton, PA. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 10:30. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations in her name be made to The American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22478, Oklahoma City, OK 73123 or www. cancer.org. Condolences may be sent to the family by visiting www.McgheeFuneralHome.com.
