Joseph J. Mercadante passed away peacefully on Sat. May 18, 2019. He was 90. Joe was born in Philadelphia to Pasquale and Letizia (Moretta) Mercadante. He is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Jennie; his devoted daughter, Joanne Marie Mercadante; brother, Albert (Marion) and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his, sister Jeannette (Robert) Krier, brother Louis (Rose), and twin sister Marie "Mary" (Robert) Mahoney.

Joseph was a graduate of Northeast High School, Army veteran and took many college courses. He began working in high school for Sears Roebuck and Company. He then worked for Sperry Univac in marketing for fifteen years. After retiring he became a court crier for Hon. Thomas DelRicci in Montgomery County for fifteen years until his retirement in 2013. He liked to swim, dance and listen to music. In retirement, he especially enjoyed relaxing in the back yard appreciating the beauty of nature.

Joseph's family will receive relatives and friends on Fri. May 24, 2019 from 10 to 11:00 AM at Our Lady of Good Counsel, 611 Knowles Ave., Southampton, PA. A Mass of Christian Brial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM. Interment with Military Honors will follow at Sunset Memorial Park in Huntingdon Valley.
