Obituary for Michael J. Quinn

Michael J. Quinn
Michael J. Quinn, of Horsham, passed away on Dec. 5, 2018. He was 65. Mike was born in Phila. to Mary (Kolifrath) and Robert Quinn. He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Karen (Speidel); sons, Matthew and Chris; grandchildren, Brooks and Hadley; siblings, Donna Czapor, Bob (Gail), Eileen Owens (Bob), and Tom (Dawn); mother in law, Rose Speidel and many nieces and nephews.

Mike was a proud veteran who served in the Navy, and after working for an auto manufacturing company he started his own painting business, which still continues to operate through his son. Although he worked hard his whole life his greatest time spent was with his friends and family. Mike would take every opportunity he could enjoying the outdoors, and some of his fondest times are taking his grandchildren out on a boat and teaching them how to fish and crab. He also loved to entertain and there are countless memories from several generations of parties at the Quinn household, and for those who took part they know the number of great stories is endless. Mike would be the first person to crack a joke to lighten the mood, but also the first person to give the shirt off his back to a friend in need – a truly one of a kind person that the world could use more of.

Although he is gone too soon, the impact he made will not be forgotten. For those that knew Mike, they would all agree that one of his greatest traits is that he never took life too seriously. He lived life to the fullest and always wanted to put a smile on the faces of those he was with, which we know will continue to hold true through the memories he leaves us with.

Michael's family will receive relatives and friends on Sat. Dec. 15, 2018 from 9 to 11:00 AM at James J. McGhee Funeral Home, 690 Belmont Ave., Southampton, PA. Services with Military Honors will begin at 11:00 AM. Interment will be private at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the Quinn family has requested donations in Mike's name be made to the Wounded Warrior Project.
