Obituary for Marilyn F. Chenworth (Geisler)

Marilyn Frances Chenworth
July 6, 1935-November 23, 2018

Marilyn Frances Chenworth (Mar), 83, of Southampton, Pennsylvania passed away on November 23, 2018, at Abington Hospital-Jefferson Health, surrounded by close family and friends

Born July 6, 1935, in Southwest Baltimore, she was the eldest daughter of the late George Geisler and Helen Welsh-Geisler. She married Francis S. Chenworth (Stu) in May of 1963, and they were married for 55 years and had 6 children.

Marilyn was a blessing to everyone who knew her. She loved children and diligently sent birthday and holiday cards to every child that she knew. She was an active member of her children’s and grandchildren’s school communities and outside activities. She was dedicated to her extended families and accepted anyone into her home and family…especially for a holiday or celebration. “Mar” cherished the holidays, especially Independence Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas. Even in declining health, she was inviting those who made her happy to the annual Christmas party at her home. She loved listening to country music, Neil Diamond, and Bobby Vinton…often spending her days singing along.

She was the matriarch of a large and loving family. She is survived by her husband Stu; son David (Reck) and his wife, Kim; son Mickey (Reck) and his wife, Tina; daughter Diane (Berry) and her husband Mike; daughter Jean (McMahon) and her husband Mike; son Jim (Chenworth) and his wife Rebekah; and daughter Wendy (Chenworth-Sworen) and her husband Jeff.

She is also survived by her sister Joyce Maykrantz, brother Gregory Harwood, countless nieces, nephews, cousins and distant relatives. She was preceded in death by her sister, the late Faith Hines.

She was the proud grandmother of 17 grandchildren; Katie, Kelsey, Kendall, Andrew, Lucas, Alex, Zach, Grace, Devon, Jake, Casey, Carly, Sage, Jack, Nate, MacKenzie, and Olivia.

She was also a proud, great-grandmother of Larkin, Lincoln, Winnie, Gabe, and baby Lucy Marlyn.

The Chenworth family will receive relatives and friends Fri. Nov. 30, 2018 from 5 to 7:00 PM at James J. McGhee Funeral Home, 690 Belmont Ave., Southampton, PA. Services will begin at 7:00 PM with Pastor Tim Wilson from Davisville Church officiating. Services and Interment will be held on Sat. Dec. 1, 2018 at 11:00 AM at Gardens of Faith Cemetery Chapel, 5598 Trumps Mill Rd., Baltimore, MD 21206.
