Obituary for Ruth Mary Harvey

Ruth Mary (Smith) Harvey, 87, resided in Warminster (Bucks County), Pennsylvania and formerly in South Philadelphia and Collingdale, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 14, 2018 at the home of her daughter Patricia surrounded by family. Born in Philadelphia she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Josephine Smith.

Ruth attended Saint Edmonds Grade School and was a graduate of Hallahan Catholic High School in Philadelphia, PA. She was married to Robert Harvey for over 50 years until his death. She was a retired Federal Government employee who worked at the United States Signal Corps, Social Security Administration and Naval Air Development Center. Ruth enjoyed serving for many years as Democratic Party Committee Woman for Warminster Township. Most of all, she will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.


Surviving are her four children: Robert Harvey, Jr. (Mary), Jean Kilmartin (William), Patricia Stockett (Michael), Mark Harvey (Tara), 12 grandchildren: Dr. Elaine Kilmartin; Professor Jacqueline Stens; Dr. Danielle Harvey; Kevin Kilmartin, PA; Michael B. Stockett, BSN; Dr. Erica Harvey; Dr. Melissa Harvey; Dr. Ryan Stockett, Jessica Harvey, Mark Harvey, Jr., Ian Harvey, and David Harvey, along with 10 great-grandchildren.

Family and friends are invited on Thursday, April 19th, to a viewing at Our Lady of Good Council Catholic Church, 611 Knowles Avenue, Southampton, PA at 10:00 am with Mass of Christian burial following at 11:00 am. Internment after at Calvary Cemetery, Conshohocken, PA.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Ruth's memory to the Cloistered Dominican Nuns of the Perpetual Rosary, 1834 Lititz Pike, Lancaster, PA 17601 in Lititz, PA.
