Obituary for Evan C. Eckert

Evan C. Eckert passed away peacefully on October 11, 2017. He was 85. Evan was born in Philadelphia to Irene (Waddell) and Raymond, Sr. Evan is survived by his children, Cynthia Sokolis (Thomas), Gail Smith (Randy), Jill Wenstrup (Brian), Meg Bowers (Tom), and Glen (Caroline Lopacki); grandchildren, Tara, Tommy and Christie Sokolis; Jacquelyn, Gary, Kyle, and Eric Smith; Christopher, Michael, and Sarah Wenstrup; Brandon Bowers and 13 great- grandchildren. Evan was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Lois Eckert.

Evan's family will receive relatives and friends on Wed. Oct. 18, 2017 from 10 to 12:00 noon at James J. McGhee Funeral Home, 690 Belmont Ave., Southampton, PA. Services will begin at 12 noon in the Funeral Home. Interment with Military Honors will be at Sunset Memorial Park in Feasterville. In lieu of flowers, the Eckert family has requested donations in Evan's name be made to Southampton-Warminster Lions Club, P.O. Box 152, Southampton, PA 18966.
