Obituary for Nancy Horner (Alexander)

Nancy Horner (Alexander)
Nancy Ann Alexander Horner, 61, passed away peacefully on Friday April 21, 2017 after a courageous fight with cancer. She was born in Camden, NJ to Dorothy Meyer and William Alexander. Nancy is survived by her parents: daughter, Meaghan; son, Chris (Christine); grandchildren, Emma Deeley, Chloe, Cheyenne and Christian Horner; siblings, Susan Mischenko (Phil), William A., Jr. Alexander, (Liz), John (Roseanne) Alexander, James (Janice) Alexander, Richard (Sondra) Alexander, Barbara Tomlinson, Dorothy Mahoney, Joanne Felix, Thomas (Ellen) Alexander, and Mark (Marissa) Alexander; and many loved nieces and nephews.

Nancy was the oldest of eleven children. She was a caregiver to her parents and a mentor to her siblings. She cared immensely for people which is why she chose nursing to be her profession and was a nurse for over 40 years. She was a much respected ER nurse at Warminster and Abington Hospital. Nancy loved attending flea markets and thrift stores, running, and best of all fishing and vacationing at Strathmere, NJ. Nancy loved making memories for her daughter, nieces, and nephews by creating an annual Scary Forest that lasted many years and was great fun! She loved creating traditions for her children and others like making cookies every Christmas, special birthday gifts, putting up the Christmas tree on Christmas Eve, and putting out her hand made Grinch every year. She was extremely creative and she had an eye for hidden treasures. She touched everyone she met and will be immeasurably missed by all.

Nancy's family will receive relatives and friends on Fri. May 5, 2017 from 6 to 8:00 PM at James J. McGhee Funeral Home, 690 Belmont Ave., Southampton, PA and again on Sat. May 6 from 11 AM at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, 611 Knowles Ave., Southampton, PA. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin following mass. Interment will be at Resurrection Cemetery in Bensalem.
