Obituary for Timothy Raymus Kuhn

Timothy Raymus Kuhn
Timothy Raymus Kuhn, 28, passed away on Monday, October 3, 2016. He is the cherished loving son of Suzanne (nee Raymus) and Mark J. Kuhn. Surviving in addition to his parents are his sister, Elizabeth Spiegler, her husband, Julian, and brother, Alexander; 4 aunts, 5 uncles and 7 cousins. Tim was preceded in death by his beloved sister, Emily, and paternal grandparents, Lois and Donald Kuhn, and maternal grandparents, Blanche and Jack Raymus.

Tim was born on May 26, 1988 and lived most of his life in Southampton, PA before relocating to Philadelphia in 2012. He graduated from Our Lady of Good Counsel School in 2002; Holy Ghost Prep (Bensalem) in 2006; and West Chester University in 2011. He earned his CPA in 2012 and was employed as an accountant at Kingsbury, Inc. in Philadelphia. Tim had a passion for music and comedy, and was actively pursuing an alternative career in stand-up comedy, performing throughout the Philadelphia region as well as New York City, San Diego and Los Angeles.

A vibrant person with many interests, Tim engaged in gymnastics and diving during his school years, and loved to dance at social gatherings. He was a skilled guitarist and was also known for his proficient “air-drumming.” During high school and college, Tim was a founder and driving force behind the band Faster Than Fate, which won recognition at the Bucks County Courier’s Battle of the Bands in 2007and 2008. He loved animals and for a time was the proud “parent” of two exotic sugar-gliders, Travis and Zoey. Tim had a passion for justice and devoted his musical talents to such charitable endeavors as West Chester University’s Aid to South Africa. As a senior in college, he produced and published a CD of local bands in support of the cancer charity Melodies for a Cure.

But passionate as he was about everything he did, Tim’s absolute top priority was people. He lived his Christian faith by the way he loved others, and truly taught by his example how to love your neighbor as yourself. Family always came first, and Tim took his responsibilities as a brother seriously, offering abundant counsel, support and friendship to younger brother Alex, older sister Liz and brother-in-law Julian, whom he loved as a blood brother. He loved his sister Emily dearly, and never truly got over her loss after she passed away in 2000. Tim possessed the unique ability to understand the points of view of both young people and adults, and often served as peacemaker when the natural misunderstandings of family or work life arose, a quality his mother Suzanne admires greatly. His father Mark is so proud of the way Tim won the affection and respect of all his co-workers when Tim joined Dad's employer of 40+ years. Tim was the joy of so many lives. He had a genuine talent for making us all laugh, and was always the funniest person in the room. As painful as his loss is, his voice and energy live on through his recorded music and comedy.

Timothy’s family will receive relatives and friends Sun. Oct. 9th, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, 611 Knowles Ave., Southampton, PA, with a vigil service following. A 2nd viewing will be held on Mon. Oct. 10th, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon, also at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:00 noon. Tim will be laid to rest at Resurrection Cemetery, Bensalem, PA.
