Obituary for Gove E. "Bud" Yerkes

Gove E. "Bud"  Yerkes
Gove E. “Bud” Yerkes, Jr., lifetime resident of Ivyland, passed away on Monday, March 3, 2014. Bud was 93. He was the son of the late Florence (nee Palmer) & Gove E. Yerkes, Sr. Bud was 1 of 5 siblings. He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Ida N. Schiefer, children, Jeanette Bateman (Scott), Mark Yerkes (Andrea), Melody Green (Silas) & Ellen Spink (Trevor), 10 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, extended family members, and his sister Eleanor Runge.

Bud was a master carpenter, he & Ida built their own home and they resided there together for 66 years. He was a lifetime member of the Ivyland Fire Company. He served in the Air Force and was a veteran of WWII.

Bud’s family will receive relatives and friend’s on Monday, March 10, 2014, from 10 to 11 a.m., at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 877 Street Rd., Southampton, PA 18966. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Bud will be laid to rest at Whitemarsh Memorial Park, Ambler, PA following the service.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Gove E. Yerkes, may be made to Good Shepherd Lutheran Church.
