James F. Monahan, Sr., passed away on Tuesday October 23,2018. He was 93. Jim was born in Philadelphia to Lillian (Doyle) and James Monahan. Jim is survived by his loving children, Jane Strawley (Joel), James Jr.,and Diane M. Connor (Kevin); grandchildren, Jennifer Strawley, Jaime Schofield (Jason), Shane Connor and Brynn Connor; great grandchildren, Avery and Abigail Schofield; sisters, Dorothy Gordon and Jane Coll (Jack). Jim was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Eileen, in 2015.

Dad was a lifelong educator and a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather and a tireless Eagles and Phillies fan.


Jim's family will receive relatives and friends on Wed. Oct. 31, 2018 from 10 to 11:00 AM at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, 611 Knowles Ave., Southampton, PA. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00. Interment with Navy Military Honors will be held at Washington Crossing National Cemetery in Newtown.
