Obituary for Clare E. Campellone (Berkowitz)

Clare E. Campellone, of Upper Southampton, passed away on Friday, August 17, 2018. Clare was 81. She was the daughter of the late Louis and Barbara Berkowitz. Clare is preceded in death by her beloved husband Peter Campellone , her brother William Berkowitz , and Susan Varley. She is survived by her; children, Mark (Sharon), Colette Campellone, Danielle Minnig (David), Suzette McHugh (Gary), and Jennifer Campellone (James Dawson); grandchildren, Michael & Nicole Campellone, Brianna, Ashley & Jenna Minnig, Jessica & Peter McHugh; sisters, Mary Louise Kuhn and Sister Miriam Barbara Berkowitz I.H.M.

Born in Philadelphia and a graduate of Little Flower Catholic High School, Clare was a resident of Southampton for the past 50 years, where she and her husband Pete raised their family. For over 25 years, Clare was employed in the food service industry, working in life care communities. Upon retirement, Clare, a faithful Catholic, served her local parish Our Lady of Good Counsel, Southampton, as a school volunteer and as part of the after school CARES Program. Clare loved cooking and gardening, and time spent with family and friends.


Clare’s family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday, August 22, from 6 to 8 PM, and again Thursday, August 23, from 9:30 to 10:30 AM, at the James J. McGhee Funeral Home, 690 Belmont Ave. Southampton, PA 18966. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday at 11:00 AM, at Our Lady of Good Counsel, 611 Knowles Ave. Southampton, PA. Following the service,
Clare will be laid to rest with her husband Peter at St. John Neumann Cemetery, Chalfont, PA.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in memory of Clare E Campellone, may be sent to Our Lady of Good Counsel CARES Program, to benefit the after school program.
