Ida Mae Childs passed away peacefully in her home on July 23, 2018, at age 88. Ida was born in Cheltenham, PA to the late Emma (Koehs) and Howard Kniss. She is survived by her loving daughter, Sheri DiVita; granddaughter, Alecia, her sister, Charlotte Sands and late siblings, Dorothy Kauffman, Mildred Crothers, Evelyn Clauss, and Howard Kniss Jr..

In Ida’s earlier years she worked at Strawbridge’s & Clothier and “the bank”. Later she was employed as a secretary in manufacturing, real estate & insurance. She worked part time at Susan’s Hallmark and made many friends throughout her working years. She was a member at Good Shepard Lutheran Church and until recent years, was an active member in Ladies Circle.

In Ida’s free time she enjoyed knitting baby hats and donating them to Holy Redeemer’s nursery. She also enjoyed spending time with family and friends and going out to eat at local restaurants, especially Applebee’s.

Ida's family will receive relatives and friends on Friday August 3, 2018 from 10 to 11:30 AM at James J. McGhee Funeral Home, 690 Belmont Ave., Southampton, PA. Services will be celebrated at 11:30 AM with Pastor Kathleen Harkness officiating. Interment will be at Sunset Memorial Park in Feasterville. In lieu of flowers, Ida's family has requested donations in her name be made to Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 877 Street Rd., Southampton, PA 18966.
