On November 19, 2017, Anton (Tony) Matthew Zanzinger, Sr. of Huntingdon Valley, PA left this world to join the Lord and to make the angels and saints laugh a little more. Born on October 12, 1924 to Anton and Barbara Zanzinger, he was the second youngest of 12 children. Raised in Milmont Park, Ridley Township, PA, he graduated from Ridley High. He enlisted in the U.S. Army during World War Two and became a paratrooper. He fought proudly with the 101st Airborne during the Normandy Invasion and the Battle of the Bulge. After the war, he met Elaine Clothier, whom he married in 1949. During their 68 years of marriage, he fathered Judi (Rich) Bourque of Etters, PA, Donna Farrington of Huntingdon Valley, Connie (Jon) Lee of Hatboro, PA, and Tony, Jr. (partner DJ Cleaver) of Quakertown, PA. His family is his greatest legacy, and his influence on his children and their spouses will leave an indelible mark on them. He leaves 6 grandchildren – Renee Healy, Kelly Bourque, Patrick Bourque, Doug Lee, Gwen Lobley, Greg Lee, and 8 great-grandchildren.

Tony was a long-time manager at Doan-Calhoun Chevrolet in the Olney section of Philadelphia where he was known for his fairness and honest deals. Tony also volunteered his time as a guest lecturer at numerous high schools, clubs, and libraries, where he brought the history of World War Two to life. His first-hand experience with the 101st Airborne and his love of country endeared him to countless students and adults. Fly the flag proudly, and wear red, white or, blue to his funeral services which are being handled by McGhee Funeral Home.

Anton’s family will receive relatives and friends on Fri., November 24, from 6-8 PM, at the James McGhee Funeral Home, 690 Belmont Ave., Southampton, PA, and again on Sat., November 25 from 9:30-11:00 AM., at Our Lady of Good Counsel, 611 Knowles Ave., Southampton PA. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM. Interment will be held at Sunset Memorial Park, Feasterville, PA.
