Obituary for John J. Curry

John J.  Curry
John J. “Jack” Curry, Age 91, passed away peacefully on April 26, 2017, surrounded by his loving family.
He was the son of the late Isabel M. nee McCaughan and John Anthony Curry

Jack is preceded in death by the love of his life, Elizabeth A. “Betty” nee Chappell. He survived by; sons, John J. Jr (Nancy), Michael P. (Paula), Joseph P. (Joyce); daughters, Elizabeth A. (deceased), Ellenor McConnell (Chuck), Mary Pat Foley (Joe), Teresa M. McKeever (Tim). 14 Grandchildren and 9 Great-Grandchildren. Also survived by his dear friend, Mary Jo Brady.

Jack was a combat Veteran of World War II, serving with pride in the U.S. Navy from 1942-1946, in the Atlantic, Pacific and Mediterranean Fleets. He served with equal pride with the Philadelphia Police Department for over 31 years.

Jack’s family will receive relatives, friends, and members of Philadelphia F.O.P. Lodge #5, Mon., May 1st, from 6 to 9 p.m., at the James J. McGhee Funeral Home, 690 Belmont Avenue, Southampton, PA, and again on, Tues, May 2nd, from 9 to 10 a.m., at Maternity B.V.M., 9322 Old Bustleton Ave. Phila., PA. Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10 a.m. on Tues., with . Jack will be laid to rest with, “Betty” the love of his life, at Resurrection Cemetery, Bensalem, PA.
