Obituary for Albert N. Oriold

Albert N.  Oriold
Albert N. Oriold, of Huntingdon Valley, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family, on Thursday, April 13, 2017. Al was 80. He was the son of the late Margaret nee Kleman and Stephen Oriold. Al is survived by his beloved wife of 55 years, Ann nee Free; children, Daniel (Lisa), Michael (Nancy), and Jean Oriold; grandchildren, Christopher, Molly, Alissa, Joseph, Michael, Julianna, and Daniel; 2 great grandchildren; brothers, Stephen (Henrietta), Nicholas (Lois), and John; and many nieces and nephews. Al is preceded in death by his sister Margaret.

Al graduated from Mastbaum High School. After an honorable discharge from the Navy, he earned his Bachelor's degree from LaSalle College and Master's degree from Temple. He was part of the original staff at Washington High School, where he taught mathematics for 36 years, and served as a football coach for many years.

He was a member of the Philadelphia Sailing Club (PSC) and the BRMSA sailing club, as well as OLGC Seniors.

He was an artist, builder, sailor, teacher, coach, woodworker, landscaper - a man of so many talents - and he was the grandfather every child should have. He had a deep love for his family, his church and his country.

The family would like to invite friends and relatives for a celebratory toast to Al's life. Visitors are welcome to come to the family home anytime between 4 and 7 PM on Sunday, April 23, 2017.
In addition, the family will receive relatives and friends on Tuesday April 25th, from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, 611 Knowles Ave. Southampton, PA. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Albert will be laid to rest at Sunset Memorial Park, Feasterville, PA.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in memory of Albert Oriold, may be sent to Our Lady of Good Counsel School Tuition Assistance Fund, 611 Knowles Ave. Southampton, PA 18966.
