Johanna "Joanne" DeWitt

Johanna "Joanne" DeWitt passed away Sunday, Feb. 12, 2017. She was 92. Joanne was the daughter of Joseph and Mary Lippay.

She is survived by her brother, Edward Lippay; her loving children, Harry (Cathy), Jody Canale (Allen), Virginia, Michele Mentzer, (Michael), Paul (Linda), and John (Judy); grandchildren, Harry, Abby, Ryan, Brittany, Michael, Kimberly, Paul, Matthew, Grace, and Madison. Joanne also is survived by eight great grandchildren.

Johanna graduated from Mount Carmel High School and Saint Mary's School of Nursing. Her successful career as a registered nurse spanned more than 40 years. She, along with her beloved husband, Harry, raised six children, who were the delight of her life, and demonstrated her love of family. As a devoted Catholic she prayed and said the rosary each morning. She loved to vacation at her favorite destination, the island of St. Croix.

Joanne's family will receive relatives and friends from 10:30 a.m. until noon Monday, Feb. 20, at Assumption B.V.M., 1900 Meadowbrook Road, Feasterville-Trevose. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at noon. Joanne will be laid to rest at 10:30 am. Tuesday, Feb 21, in Washington Crossing National Cemetery, Newtown.
