Obituary for Phyllis Sheridan (Heinemann)

Phyllis Sheridan, 73, passed away peacefully on December 1, 2016. She was born in Philadelphia to Ruth (nee Hunsicker) and Edward E. Heinemann. Phyllis is survived by her loving children, Linda (Jennifer), Michael (Kim) and Brian; grandchildren, Jessica Hammel (Kenny), Sean, Meghan, Kyle and Madison; great grandchild, Dominic Hammel; close family friend, Jo Ann Hull. Phyllis is also survived by her cat, Luca.

Family was very important to Phyllis. All she ever wanted was for her family to be together, happy and healthy.

Second to her family was nursing. Going to Germantown School of Nursing right out of high school, there was never a doubt this is what she wanted. It wasn't a job to her. She took great pride in being a Registered Nurse. Phyllis was kind, caring and compassionate. She was selfless and empathetic, she treated her patients as if they were family.

Even with her own illnesses, she was taking care of people until the very end.

Phyllis's family will receive relatives and friends on Tuesday, Dec. 6, 2016 from 9 to 11:00 AM at James J. McGhee Funeral Home, 690 Belmont Ave., Southampton, PA. Services will begin at 11:00 AM. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations in Phyllis's name be made to Abington Hospice, 225 Newtown Road, Warminster, PA 18974 or PAWS, 1810 Grant Ave., Phila., PA 19115 or phillypaws.org.
